• Responsible for procuring space at highly competitive rates for assigned trade lanes
• Responsible for building and growing the volume and revenue for assigned trade lanes through smart and effective procurement.
• Work closely with all parties across the organization to achieve the growth goals for company ocean service.
* Roles&Responsibilities
• Procurement
o Procure and negotiate with Ocean Carriers / Logistics Service Providers to obtain competitive rate and regular allocation.
o Act as a tactical control tower regarding space and capacity - find solutions to redistribute where needed, procure additional capacity where needed.
o Review and monitor conversion rate of FAK rate as well as success rate from RFQ submission
o Analyse pricing gap and work closely with internal stakeholders to improve pricing competitiveness level.
• Sales enablement
o Maintain ocean freight rate, local handling charge and other surcharges database to be shared with Business Development team
o As the trade lane procurement subject-matter-expert, provide regular market update and intelligence to Business Development to for obtaining good pricing approach.
o Involve in customer RFQ and provide pricing strategy input.
o Proactively share connections and generate sales lead.
• Driving growth
o Work closely with Business Development team to drive revenue growth and profitability of the appointed trade lane.
o Improve volume and net revenue growth through smart and effective procurement

Requirements


• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Transportation, Logistics, Supply Chain Management or a related field preferred
• At least 8 years’ procurement experience in international freight forwarding industry
• Successful track record in B2B negotiation
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• In-depth knowledge of ocean freight forwarding market and operation
• Multi-tasking and cross functional collaboration capability
• Highly self-motivated and driven
• Proficient in Microsoft Words, Excel and Presentation
• Good at pricing evaluation, strategic cost assessment and budget management.
